Our Government Needs To Hear From Us!
U.S. safety limits for wireless radiation have not been reviewed since 1996. Yet, more and more research indicates safety is not assured regarding exposure to wireless emissions from cell phones, cell towers, and other devices. Research links exposure to damage to memory and reproduction, as well as increased cancer.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has repeatedly written to U.S. government agencies to call for new safety standards that protect children. Leading scientists have also written to President Biden and U.S. Congress to call for immediate action that would ensure science-based protections for the public and for the environment.
In August 2021, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) failed to provide a reasoned explanation for its determination that its wireless radiation guidelines — set in 1996 — adequately protect against all harmful effects of exposure. The Court ordered the FCC to address the issue of children’s unique vulnerability to wireless radiation.
Yet to this day the FCC has not taken any action.
We need the Biden administration and Congress to quickly move to ensure the development of federal regulations that protect children.
